I give the sunrise four out of ten on the Gold Coast this morning. But I give the first day of spring a whopper ten out of ten. Say yippee, hey, ho, and throw in a yahoo. Queensland, Australia.
Flaming reflections of high-rise I snapped during sunrise at wonderful Main Beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. You beauty!
Sin City, better known as the Gold Coast, was looking absolutely wonderful this morning at Main Beach. Snapped this one just before sunrise. I have named it Sin City because of the soaring crime rate. Real bad. Hooray, you bloody beauty. Queensland, Australia.
Maybe a model for a magazine – I do not know. But it was a wonderful sight from Miami Hill on the fabulous Gold Coast over the weekend. I was so far away I needed to use a 600mm lens to snap this. And to top it off, a wave ripped up the beach just as I pressed the shutter. It filled up the frame – and that’s what I wanted. Hooray, Queensland, Australia.
Hooray, another happy snap of The Color Run (their spelling), held on the Gold Coast yesterday. The organisers believe it is the ‘Happiest 5K on the Planet’. It is staged all around the world and is the largest running series ever. It was founded in January 2012 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together. Queensland, Australia.
This is a terrible exposure simply because I wasn’t ready – and I didn’t expect the moon to look like this on the horizon a few days ago. Snapped this near the Gold Coast Sand Pumping Jetty on the Spit. Queensland, Gold Coast, Australia.
Snapped this wonderful scene just as the sun popped it’s nose through the clouds for a few minutes at Snapper Rocks a few days ago. Snapper Rocks is without doubt the best beach on the Gold Coast. Hooray. Queensland, Australia.
Wash your face Geoffrey, with the Solvol, Geoffrey. Snapped this grubby-faced pelican on the Gold Coast. Queensland, Australia.
A week ago, I decided to focus on the Butcher Bird and not the moon. It’s easier – and I have been told it’s best to keep it simple. The bird is only two metres from my lens while the moon is three hundred and eighty five thousand kilometres away (give or take a few). Gold Coast, Australia.
This is a Harlequin Stink Bug I snapped on a leaf over the road from where I live on the Gold Coast. I wish I had a Nikon macro lens with me at the time. At times, when the bugs are hassled, they let rip with some type of gas they can stay on you until you have a bath. Real bad small. I escaped. Queensland, Australia.
