I nearly walk around this dead stingray on the beach, but decided it was worth a snap. For something dead, there’s a lot going on. Do not look at this image while having breakfast. Queensland, Gold Coast.
I’m going way back to the late 80s at Sea World on the Gold Coast, Australia, when I photographed the delightful Vicki with a gold fish in a diving mask to help promote Fish Week. It took much effort and patience to snap this image. One young lady I used couldn’t stand the fish tickling her nose, and because of the bright light another couldn’t keep her eyes open. Finally, after several rolls of film (36 exposures) I captured the image I was wanted. All natural. Processing and printing all done in the darkroom.
