I’m going way back to the 80s when the organisers of the Australia Day celebrations held at Carrara on the Gold Coast, came up with the brilliant idea of launching the Grave Digging Competition. Not one person died on the job, but I heard the committee struck pay dirt when it attracted huge crowds to see such an unique idea in action. Hooray.
I discovered this image I snapped of David May and daughter Angela May at home in the well equipped kitchen at Point Lookout on Straddie, toiling over a hot gas stove, cooking up a veritable storm. In all the times I have visited there, I never ever had a bad feed. Yep, top tucker. The best. And David makes the best home brew in Australia. Hooray. Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australia.
I went outside early yesterday morning on the Gold Coast, I looked up and noticed the moon going down. I raised the camera to see if these was some sort of picture I could snap. Just as I decided there was nothing in it, bugger me if this butcher bird didn’t fly past obviously trying to catch an early worm. Well I’ll be a monkeys uncle. Snap. Hooray. Queensland, Australia.
