  1. Amazing, I must say, I always feel a bit sad for the crabs caught in pots around the coast..they are put in big crates and roughly thown around…transported all over the country and abroad alive to be put in the pot..alive…hmmm, do not want to come back as a crab.

    • Not theses crabs, Paula. But they do have to hide from predators …pesky gulls and other beasties. Yes, it appears cruel to put a crab in a pot alive, but that’s life. Many people in Aussie freeze them for a few minutes and that puts them to sleep – so no pain. Pleased you have such a soft spot for crabs…but they are great eating.
